everybody wants to be the heartbreaker.

everybody wants to be the one doing the breaking up, not the one being broken up with… but when you love that person yet know it’s not going to work out, it’s incredibly agonizing to be the one severing the connection — you’re simultaneously breaking your own heart & the other person’s heart, oftentimes becoming a villain of sorts, & likely doubting if you made the right decision after all.

i’ve romanticized my flings in the past...

i wrote this song in order to express the depths of longing expressed by hand holding and how i romanticize the idea of love. since the beginning of its production, it’s taken on different meanings as i’ve gone through various stages of disenchantment with romance.
